Sex with an addict is rape
We can reduce drug addiction and overdoes simply be word of mouth
Behaviors like street-level sex work for drugs and the compulsive use of illegal drugs being evidence of mental illness is something that is very well known. It is generally accepted that a sexual act with someone that is intoxicated to the point of mental impairment is a crime of rape. In the same way, a street-level sex worker who is prostituting to support a drug habit are mentally impaired and as such, a sexual act with them is an act of rape that is accomplished without force, threat or coercion.
What is street level prostitution?
Street-level prostitution in the US is identified by a specific price range for sexual favors (between $5 and $40, daily national average). This particular price range indicates that the sex worker is prostituting to support drug addiction.
What is CFS BlackBook?
CFS (CatFish Services) BlackBook was a method of establishing communication with men who seek to spend money to have sex with street-level sex workers. We posted ads on prostitution-friendly websites to catfish men out to prostitute-friendly hotels/motels where we informed them that the money they wanted to give to an addict for sex was actually funding drug addiction, overdoses and drug induced deaths. The men shared this information with other men who patronized street sex workers resulting in a decrease in drug use in the area of CFS operations.
Why is CFS?
The CFS "word-of-mouth" method reduces drug use and drug availability simply by encouraging communities to discuss why men should not patronize street-level sex workers. When the men are reminded that they should treat women how they would want the women in their families to be treated (“Dear John”) they stop giving money to addicts and/or meeting them for sex. Our “Dear John” page presents issues that can be used as conversation starters. It is a cost effective way to reduce drug use and possibly save lives.
What can you do?
CFS is changing its tactics from direct contact with patronizing men to encouraging citizens to speak out about the reality behind men who patronize street-level sex workers and what can be done to eliminate the problem altogether.
